About
I started this to keep track of all the beer brewing resources I was finding and to log brew days, recipe ideas and techniques. I use Brew in a Bag (BIAB) like the Aussies developed. I’ll occasionally add a batch sparge or otherwise modify BIAB, but unless I say so, you can assume straight up BIAB technique.
I like to dig into the history of a style and then see what makes sense to me to put into a recipe. Sometimes the recipe ends up just like it would if I had just grabbed one from a book or database, sometimes I make it a little or lot different. I always enjoy the process of brewing and drinking more when I understand what I am doing and tasting; know why the style is that way helps me enjoy it more. Although I frequently find I have to drink several to really get it…
I brew in Asheville, NC, a great brewing community.
